Therapy for Teens
Adolescence is a challenging developmental period.
Even though the teenage years are already a period of “storm and stress,” teens today are living through a uniquely challenging era. Teens have recently dealt with a global pandemic causing disruptions to learning and development, as well as pressures from peers and social media, in addition to the usual teen struggles.
We specialize in helping teens who have experienced upsetting events (trauma), as well as those dealing with anxiety, depression, social or friend struggles, identity issues, and other difficulties at school, at home, or with friends.
We do this by helping teens learn about how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Having a safe space to learn about and talk about your feelings can be life changing.
Once we can identify how we feel, we can work on changing it.
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

We know that many teens don’t want to sit on a couch and talk about their feelings.
Our approach with teens is interactive—we have lots of fidgets in our offices and often use art to help with expression. We may connect over chess or a puzzle, or play other games to get the conversation going. We enjoy connecting with your teen over their interests and may use creative means to learn about and express emotions, social skills, body sensations, and more.
With our teen clients, we love to cater to their individual needs and are able to adapt and change based on how they are engaging in their therapy work.
